“…came to the table medium well, seared, fatty and full of savory juices. Ordinarily, I open the burger, take a look and a bite, and begin taking notes. Half of the burger disappeared before I could get started though. Oops. It was just too good!”

  Capone’s Cheeseburger

  • 1/2 lb. thick, fatty beef patty (1)
  • Cheddar Cheese (1)
  • Iceberg lettuce
  • Tomatos
  • Pickles
  • Buttery sesame seed buns, toasted on both sides (2)
  • Mayonnaise (fair amount)

The Capone Cheeseburger came to the table medium well, seared, fatty and full of savory juices. Ordinarily, I open the burger, take a look and a bite, and begin taking notes. Half of the burger disappeared before I could get started though. Oops. It was just too good! However, I  have to admit the construction of this burger wilted the lettuce, so the texture and cool factor diminished. Toasting (on both sides might I add) and buttering the buns left a positive impression on this girl, but this was mostly perceived by literally feeling the bread with my fingers. The toast was too light to detect with the eyes…

Note:  Patty is 1/2 lb. prior to cooking.

  • Multiple layers of crisp

I salted and peppered these at the table and enjoyed them beyond the point of being “full”.
