New Orleans

Ted’s Frostop Diner

“The “World Famous” Lot-O-Burger arrives with little fanfare in a plastic basket and paper. The presentation doesn’t belie complexity. The bun is soft, white (Bunny) bread, and sticks to the roof of your mouth. The patties are almost smashed, and they are seared well enough to be the stars of the show. There is no melt on the cheese (and it didn’t taste like cheddar to this reviewer). The condiments are well apportioned though, with a good balance of mayo and mustard on each the bottom and top of the bun. The iceberg and roma combination is bland, while this diner found the red onion a little heavy. These patties are let down by the quality of the ingredients around them. If this meal were $9-10, it would be easier to swallow.”

  Crinkle Cut Fries

  • Crinkle cut, out of a bag
  • Light dusting of what appeared to be Slap-Ya-Mama
  • Very nice crisp to the fries

Not a fan of frozen fries. But they almost pull these off. It is nice to see seasoning on fries, even if it is also out of a container.

  Ted’s Diet Root Beer

  • Very nice, but quickly receding head
  • Nice lacing
  • Not overly sweet, but close
  • Good carbonation to cut back on sweetness

Terrific option for classic American Root Beer & Burger vibe. Not many places have house beverage options.
